Vietnam

Ten years ago, armed with just a backpack and a teenie-tiny Panasonic Lumix GM1, I set out to explore Vietnam: three weeks in the country, traveling from south to north, and east to west. I was completely unprepared for the chaos, the heat, the humidity, the food, the people, the culture, the everything. But I was also completely in love with the country, and the people, and the culture, and the language, and the everything. Not so much so with the humidity. I met people along the way whose names I still remember to this day, even after losing touch with them. One of my fondest memories was going for runs on my own around Lao Cai; the benefit of carrying a really tiny camera back then was that I could easily slip it into my pocket and go for a run with it, stopping whenver I needed to.
